What is Micro Needling?

Micro needling is a form of therapy that stimulates youthful beauty in just a few treatments—without surgery and fewer side effects.  After treatment the skin repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter and younger-looking skin.  Not only will this leave you glowing, it can also reduce scarring, stretch marks, blackheads, open pores, fine lines, hyperpigmentation and more. Who’s the ideal Candidate for Micro needling?

Micro needling is a treatment for any one who wishes to make their skin better.   If you require treatment for scars, wrinkles, stretch marks, cellulite and hyperpigmentation, you would likely make a good candidate.  Those with on going skin infections need to resolve the condition prior to undergoing the treatment.  The treatment is suitable for both men and women.

What does dermal needling do?

Reduce imperfections – Micro-needling promotes the production of collagen and elastin through the natural auto-repair mechanisms of the skin, reducing the appearance of imperfections.

How does Micro Needling work?

Micro needling works by using tiny needles to create small perforations, or ‘micro-channels’ in the skin. This stimulates the healing response of the deeper layers and encourages your skin to make new, collagen-rich tissue.

The micro-channels created during the treatment allow active ingredients from your skincare products to penetrate to the deepest layers of the skin to deliver even more powerful results.

Treatment feels like?

Skin will be cleaned and prepped for treatment.

During the session, serums are applied for different conditions and a specialised device pushes incredibly fine needles into the skin as it moves over the surface, creating tiny channels.  This can causes tiny minor discomfort in the sensitive arrears such as under eyes.  (Tropical numbing cream can be applied)

Your skin will feel sensitive, slight redness and warmth to the skin may be experienced after your session, and dryness can be experienced a few days post-treatment.

Everything will quickly go back to normal, In the following weeks, the look of your skin will not just go back to normal, but will improve in terms of texture and clarity.

Results

The initial skin tightening and pore reduction can be seen immediately after treatment. However, you won’t see your final micro needling results until four to six weeks after your anti-aging treatment. Both collagen production and cellular turnover are accelerated, but it still takes your body time to produce new, strong, healthy collagen.

To see the full effect, the number of treatments required will depend on your individual requirements and this will be discussed during your initial consultation. Typically, we recommend a treatment course of 3-6 sessions, at monthly intervals.
